Some Things Never Stay Dead...

<sub>Ever since Ellena was a little girl, she has been able to “see things” that no one else can. She could see spirits from the other side, and for the longest time, she was unable to tell the difference between the living and the dead, since the spirits she would see would be just as solid as the living most of the time. She eventually learned at the age of 8, after her mother explained it, that she had a “gift”. So for years, she learned to tell the difference between ghosts and people, and for a short amount of time, she would try to help others crossover…
    However, there is always a downside to having such a “gift”, for it soon became a curse to her. After her family moved to America, she ran from home when she was 16, due to feeling alienated from them, but not long after, they suddenly up and left without a word, leaving her behind. She got caught up in the wrong crowd, which is where she met her first boyfriend, Malachi, at the age of 18. She was young, and desperate for any sort of connection, due to feeling abandoned completely in a country she hardly knew. She had convinced herself that she had found “the one for her”, however, because of her desperation denial, she failed to see that he was merely a sick, conniving bastard of a demon (literally).
    He was attracted to her “sensitive abilities”, and decided to take advantage of her through bother her emotions and spiritual sensitivity, using them to manipulate her, and to ultimately trick her into selling her soul to him, by saying that she would “give him anything.” And that was the decision she had made that turned her life into a living hell.
    Malachi eventually showed his true colors to her, making Ellena realize her mistake, and tried to escape, but was too late. Because of this, she was now tied to him, becoming his “little marionette” as he called her. She was tortured, abused physically, mentally, and sexually, for two long years by him. She endured it until she finally couldn’t take it anymore, and in a desperate attempt to escape her life of agony, she ultimately ended it. But it didn’t end there. The next thing she knew, she was now alive and awake again…but in a different body. Malachi had brought her back and put her in a body he had created for her, which left her unable to age or die as a way to keep her forever tied to him.
    However, Malachi became careless on keeping a “tight leash” on her, and finally allowed her to escape from her tormentor. She ran from her prison, and has been running ever since. She lived through the decades on the run from him. Ellena, for the most part, tried living a normal life, but the fact that she was no longer human, and couldn’t die made it a little harder… but she was able to find a few years of happiness when she fell in love with a war bot during Vietnam, and had hoped to one day meet him and the four other soldiers she had befriended…
    But this was short lived, because of her connection to Malachi, her clairvoyant abilities were only enhanced, as she soon began to attract and be followed by entities that were less than friendly. These entities took the form of shadows that followed her around, and would tend to get physical whenever she was by herself, many of them had given her scars because of this. She had of keeping them at bay, from protective circles, to religious means. But she knew that whenever their taunts got louder, Ellena would know that Malachi was close to finding her, and resulted in her having to leave her “five angels” behind to get away again.
    But centuries later, she was finally able to reunite with them, and is now in a happy relationship with the war bot she fell in love with all those years ago. The shadows that have tormented her have begun to lessen in number, and their whispers becoming quieter, until it has now been reduced to a dull hum. But despite this, there is always one that never leaves, and has always followed her after all this time. It is an entity that takes on the form of what looks like a small dark haired girl, covered in blood, and as pale as death, brandishing a carving knife that seems to be a little too big for her to hold and is always dripping with blood..
    She is the reason why Ellena hasn’t slept in a normal bed all this time, or even slept at all for that matter. Every night, this girl always comes to her room, and every night, Ellena huddles in her protective circle, not daring to step outside it, while the macabre entity torments her until dawn; appearing wherever Ellie looks, staring at her for hours on end with the two endless pits she has for eyes, and whispering disturbing messages to her that always get louder and louder, until Ellena passes out from fear and exhaustion on the floor. She doesn’t tell her friends, or her boyfriend, or even her best friend Brimstone about it. She doesn’t want to burden them with her problems any more than she has. And though she is scared, she is stronger than she was before all those centuries ago. And for now, she just hopes this horrid thing eventually go away like all the others, and constantly tells herself that “it will go away…”
